You are off to a perfect start with drafting the
first two sections of the resume such as contact details and career objective.
The task does not end here. The battle is only half won by seeking the
attention of the employer. However, the real challenge lies ahead. You have to
retain the interest of the employer as well as impress him/her to call you for
the interview.
It’s a general misconception among many individuals that
skills section could be avoided. Some of them believe that this section is a
mere listing of skills. They feel presenting a list of educational
qualifications would work wonders and impress the recruiters. We tend to forget
the importance of skills section in the resume.
The skills sections play a very effective role in
the resume. It informs the recruiter about some of your important
characteristics or even personality traits suitable for the post. This section
should be placed after the contact details and objective section in the resume.
